How to Use the District Policy Handbook The Swink School District is governed by policies adopted and approved by the Swink School Board. Presented here in its entirety is the District’s Policy Handbook. Here you can locate, read, and print out the complete text of any policy currently in effect in the Swink School District that may be of interest to you..

The District’s Policy Handbook is divided into twelve alphabetically coded topic categories. Each policy is assigned to one of these categories and given its own alphabetical code beginning with the letter of its assigned category..

The Handbook is not “browsable.” To use it effectively it is necessary to start with the index.-- or Code-Finder. For example, if you want to know the district’s graduation requirements, open the index, scroll down to the “G”, find the main category "Graduation" and then look for the subtopic “graduation requirements.” This will refer you to policy code IKF, which is located in topic category "I" (Instruction) below. Open the "I" page, locate policy code IKF, and click on it to open the associated PDF file.

Because the Index is a generic national guide, it contains many terms and topics that have not actually been adopted by our Board and so will not be found in our Policy Handbook.
